Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Board

Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Board is a multi agency forum which ensures that children and young people throughout Derbyshire are kept safe and have their needs met.      

The board has senior representation from the key statutory agencies with a responsibility for safeguarding children these include 

  • Health (PCT, Hospital Trusts, Adult Mental Health Services)

  • Police

  • Children and Younger Adults

  • Connexions

  • Youth Offending Service

  • CAFCASS

  • District and Borough Councils

  • The Prison Service

The board meets bi-monthly and takes a strategic lead in safeguarding children.

The Safeguarding Children Partnership Group is a forum for operational managers and practitioners from across the county that meets three times a year to discuss and share information about keeping Derbyshire children safe.                                                     

Safeguarding Board sub-committees meet regularly to undertake work on behalf of the board. 

The sub committees are

  • Policy and Procedures

  • Quality Assurance

  • Training and Development

  • Vulnerable Children
