Welcome to the Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Board website.
Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Board is a statutory body, established in accordance with the Children Act 2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance 2013. The role of the Board is to co-ordinate and monitor the effectiveness of the safeguarding work of agencies and bodies represented on the Board.
Message from the DSCB chair
It is very important to recognize that safeguarding is not the sole responsibility of any one agency. All agencies, organisations and individuals working with children, families and parents have a role to play. So too does the wider community. Safeguarding children is everybody's business and only by working together across Derbyshire can we be effective in keeping our children and young people safe.
Our website is designed to help you to play your part in keeping our children and young people safe, whether you are a professional, parent, or member of the community. There is also a section for you if you are a young person looking for information on how to get help or if you want to read about things you can do to keep yourself from harm.
