From Risk Assessment to Parental Mental Health, from Effective Supervision to Safeguarding Disabled Children we have the right course for you.
On this page you will find information about the courses that are running from June 2011 to March 2012.
We have set out the aims, who the course is intended for, an indication of the content and the dates and venues.
Please download our Training Programme document from the related documents section on this page and share it with anyone that you think might benefit.
All our courses are mapped against the various areas of knowledge outlined for anyone who works to safeguard and promote the well-being of children and young people set out in the safeguarding stautory guidance 'Working Together' 2010.
In the programme there is a table to help you identify which safeguarding 'group' you are in and that indicates the areas of knowledge that you are expected to have. We have added a self-assessment element to this table - do try it.
We hope that it helps you to recognise the knowledge and skills that you do have and to help you identify any gaps that could be filled through training.
This table also indicates which courses the Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Board have identified as mandatory for your group.
All our courses seek to address issues relating to diversity and difference, equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice.
You can view or download the statemet of interprofessional values for working with children that has been approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the General Social Care Council and the General Teaching Council for England, from the more information section.
Once you have identified a course or courses that are of interest, please complete the application form and return it to the DSCB training team:

We look forward to seeing you at a DSCB training and development event or course at some stage over the next few months!
